I have often pondered what kind of progressions make sense. It seems to me that a progression adequate for one type of bet might not be suitable for another--i.e., you may want to make even money bets differently than 35:1 bets. At any rate, I use the following betting progression when I am betting straight up on one number.

I would be interested to hear what the list has to say about the progression. Does it make sense?

I have never gotten beyond six rounds before I have a winner, but I have carried it out further, for the sake of completeness, until a negative return would be the result.

The listing is fairly straight forward. It lists the number of Betting Units to be wagered, for how many spins, how much you will lose if you go through the entire line of the progression and what you would win if you go through the entire line. Of course, if you win earlier, then you would win more.

Also, keep in mind that I am talking about Betting Units, not dollars. So for example if the table allows a minimum bet on the inside of $2 and you are betting one number straight up, then you would start with a Betting Unit of $2. If you go to the second level, your Betting Unit would be $4.00 (2BU x $2), and so forth. And of course, some tables might have a top bet of $25 on a number, which means if the minimum is $2 then you would only go up to 12 levels.

The way it works is you would bet 1 Betting Unit for 30 spins. If you haven't won, you go to 2 Betting Units for 18 spins. If you haven't won, you go to 3 Betting Units for 11 spins. And so forth.

If you win, start over at 1 Betting Unit.
You could also build a progression based on a % of ROI that you wanted to achieve.
Usually, when I go to the casino, I just print off the 12 levels of progression.

It is for dozens/columns. It's a three-step plan with a nice outcome.

Step 1: Bet 5Units (U)
If you win, you have 15U. Go to Step 2
If you lose - well, that's the chance you take...

Step 2: Bet 4U
If you win, you have 23U. Go to Step 3
If you lose, you still have 11U
Bet 6U, keeping your initial bet
If you win, you have 23U. Go to Step 3
If you lose, you still have your initial bet. Go to Step 1

Step 3: Bet 6U
If you win, you have made 30U (600%) in profit! Go home
If you lose, you still have 17U
Bet 9U, keeping your initial bet plus 3U
If you win, you have made 30U (600%) in profit! Go home
If you lose, you still have your initial bet plus 3U (60%) in profit. Take a break.
